Sack Your Rivals at Xbox Madden 10

You may need a crash course in football video game history, if hearing about all the innovations and improvements that Xbox Madden 10 offers still hasn't moved you. Yeah, it could be a bit cruel to constantly bag on older games as a means to elevate today's football video games. But it helps to see how much progress has been made in football video games, by taking a glance at the earliest video games and comparing them to Xbox Madden 10. It was inevitable, given the popularity of handheld football games in the B.C. (before consoles) era, that gamers would want a video football game to satisfy their needs. The bad news, though, was that video game technology was still in the "post-Pong" phase, and the games reflected those limitations. If you've ever seen old ads for this one, the creators truly believed that it had "all the excitement" of the real deal.

The characters on the gridiron are more suited to a sci-fi shooter than a football video game. Rough, but true. The photo may be underwhelming, but the game itself is even more so. From a technological standpoint, things were so basic, that multiple players moving at once meant that the only thing extreme about this game was the flickering of the players. Sound effects didn't fare much better, with the "spectators" sounding more like a car with a busted muffler. Again, things like the scrolling screen wouldn't be a required part of any game for a while yet. However, another participant in video game consoles entered the fray, and their football video game scored a touchdown. They definitely took the ball and ran with this one, giving gamers better gameplay, visuals, and sound. However, it was still a bit primitive. Hardcore gamers were pretty excited by that one, as it really heralded the beginning of sports video games - but it was still just an early entry in the field. Gamers would have to wait a while on the bench before that came true. Technology had caught up, albeit slightly, to gamers' football desires, to the point where this game has taken on an iconic status for gamers today. Over the years, this was the yardstick by which all football video games were measured.

It's relatively simple to see why it was such a mega-popular hit - before this, nobody really attempted to make a football video game that was this sophisticated. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. Today, there's even a new incarnation of the game, and with that is a renewed reverence for it. While worthy of praise, it still trails in the distance from Xbox Madden 10.

With the great strides in gaming, football video games have reached a level worthy of the fans. We've had a few chuckles, but mocking less advanced video games isn't a productive use of our time. You've gotten the point. They may have been flawed, but we needed those older games as a "springboard" to what we have today. Hardcore gamers have every reason to be fired up - Xbox Madden 10 really is the winning touchdown. The fans aren't the only ones raving about Xbox Madden 10 - the critics have said their piece, and they're into it. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports didn't even come close to fumbling the ball with Xbox Madden 10, that's for sure.

There are always going to be the haters, but pay no attention - Xbox Madden 10 rules. Not to put down any other Xbox sports video games, which have certainly earned their solid rep, but Xbox Madden 10 is just the best of the best. Most of the gaming world agrees that this is the new standard by which the rest shall be judged. If you're really ready to show your stuff, you can separate yourself from the pack and face off for big bucks.

It's a great time to be an Xbox Madden 10 expert - now you can slug it out for some real money. When you've conquered the Xbox Madden 10 playing field, you'll be conquering your rivals - and snagging their cash.
